Caroline Bourgeois was the director of the Eric Franck Gallery in Switzerland from 1988-1993 and from 1995-1997 and the co-director of the Jennifer Flay Gallery.

From 1998-2001, she worked on contemporary art installations for the Paris subway with several artists, including Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, and was in charge of the video department of the collection at the François Pinault Foundation.
She has also done numerous independent projects, including a video program for the first edition of “Emerging Resurging Resistant” in Paris (202 for “Point of View: A Contemporary Anthology of the Moving Image”, produced in association with the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York (2003) and "Valie Export – A Global Vision", a traveling exhibition organized in a collaboration with the National Center of Photography (CNP) in Paris (2003/04).
From 2004-2008 she was the artistic director of Plateau in Paris.
Since 2007 she has curated an exhibition at the François Pinault Foundation entitled “Passage du Temps” in the Trip Postal in Lille. Later she worked as the curator of the collection and organized the following exhibitions: in 2009, “A certain state of the world?” in the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Moscow and “Who is afraid of artists?” at Dinard. She was also responsible for “In Praise of Doubt” at Punta della Dogana, which ran from April 2011 until the end of 2012, and “The World Belongs to You” at Palazzo Grassi, which ran from June of 2011 until February of 2012.
She is currently working on a one-man show for Urs Fischer at Palazzo Grassi, which will run from April until July of 2012, and an exhibition on the François Pinault Foundation’s video collection, which is scheduled to open in September 2012.
