Miami Swim Week at Faena District
Faena District celebrates Miami Swim Week 2018 with a week-long series of events and immersive retail experiences at Faena Miami Beach.
Miami Swim Week at Faena District
From July 11-18, Faena Bazaar will morph into Coterie: Pop-Up in partnership with Maris Collective during Miami Swim Week.
The immersive retail experience will feature a variety of international designers, resort wear and beauty brands from around the world, including Carolina K, Rosa Cha, LoveShackFancy and Innika Choo, among many others.
Designed by Valentino Vettori, Coterie: Pop-Up will drape the OMA-designed Bazaar in delicate designs featuring florals and butterflies – the building’s “wrapping paper” –to create unique environments and shareable moments with immersive, memorable spaces abundant with art, music, fashion and technology.
The experiential shop is a prelude to Faena Bazaar’s official launch in December, which will transform its four floors into an unconventional and immersive retail concept featuring a ground-floor café, a rotation of fine jewelry and designer collections from emerging and established talent, immersive art installations and flexible ocean view event space.
For over two years, Alan Faena collaborated with LeeAnn Sauter, the founder of Maris Collective, a company that curates and operates lifestyle boutiques for five-star hotels, to create a masterplan that reflects his vision. “Eventually we’ll launch our own collection too,” says Faena, who got his start in the fashion industry in the late ‘80s.
Faena Bazaar opens to the public on July 12th. Launch party on July 11th by invitation only. For more information, please email [email protected].
Eclectic & Ethical Fashion
Carolina K Pop-Up at Tierra Santa Healing House.
Guests can snack on healthy, raw-food appetizers and imbibe craft cocktails splashed with Salvacion Mezcal while shopping the latest summer fashions at Tierra Santa’s Living Room lounge and Terrace. Known for her unique prints and hand-embroidered details, Carolina Kleinman’s designs are brought to life by artisans from remote regions in Mexico, Peru and India using ancestral techniques from hand looming to needlework.
These artisans are the DNA of my brand. Every piece they make is a work of art. I have stayed in their homes and shared meals with their families. They’ve given me a bigger purpose in life: to support and empower them through building an ethical and sustainable brand.
—said Carolina, whose mission it is to keep these ancient traditions alive.
Her colorful summer line will be on display for immediate delivery, and guests will get a first look at her Resort ’19 collection, available for pre-order at the event. Her latest line of swimwear, dresses, kimonos and ready-to-wear designs are inspired by her recent travels to Guatemala, Mexico and Peru, where she immersed herself in learning the healing properties of sacred plants, a theme she threaded throughout the collection.
“Each of our pieces can be treasured for a lifetime and passed down to future generations,” Carolina said.
July 15th, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Pop-up event is open to the public and complimentary.
